About Alya Abbed

Alya Abbed, LCPC is a licensed counselor experienced in addressing various mental health issues affecting the lives of women. She received her Master’s degree in community counseling from Oakland University in 2005 from Rochester, MI. She utilizes her vast experience to treat symptoms of trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and struggles with adjustment to life’s challenges.

Alya is a trusted clinician who provides understanding, connection and expertise in a safe, confidential setting. She is passionate about the therapeutic treatment of women experiencing various mental health challenges due to varying life circumstances. She is a strong believer in a person-centered approach and incorporates talk-therapy alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to bring about hope, change, and relief in the lives of those she treats.

Alya is certified in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help treat the lingering and often times debilitating effects of traumatic experiences on lives. Her expertise allows her to demonstrate and equip clients with effective coping skills needed to navigate life changes successfully. Outside of the office, Alya is a dedicated wife and mother of 4 who enjoys an active lifestyle and spending quality time with family and friends.
